MD Doctor started with a simple frustration: most Markdown tools are either too basic to be useful or so bloated they get in the way. This is an attempt at something in between: powerful when you need it, invisible when you don't.

The editor is hand-built from the ground up, without relying on a heavyweight third-party editing engine. That means every keystroke, every quick-action and every animation is tuned specifically for writing Markdown fast and comfortably.

Everything runs in your browser. There is no server storing your notes, no account to create and no analytics tracking your every move. When you enable offline saving, your work is kept privately on your own device using IndexedDB.

It is completely free and open source under the MIT license. Contributions, ideas and bug reports are always welcome.
